Need some advice(packet sniffing)

So I already tried to use cain and abel and wireshark to sniff packets, but failed.

So now my question is which os is best for this? Linux or Windows?



Is there anything else that works better than cain and abel on windows.



Or would you suggest me to use linux? If so which one? Kali?
