Redesigning art website for family member

Hi,

So, a family member of mine is an artist and I agreed to redesign her website for free as it would give me a chance to learn some web design and backend stuff.

I don't have a whole ton of experience with programming. I have taken a C++ and Java class that taught the same concepts (from string manipulation and I/O to virtual/abstract functions and linked lists). Nothing too advanced.

Her needs are not very great. She basically needs a simple, four page site. One page will display her artwork with prices, another will be a contact page, and another one will be used to display photos of her and her work at galleries that her art is displayed at. The home page being number four.

I'm posting here to see if you all think I should learn PHP/MySQL/HTML/CSS all this summer and hopefully get it done by the end before classes start back up or learn a content management system that will handle this for her and learn the languages as I construct the site around the CMS.

I started learning some PHP and I think it would be fairly easy to learn given that I have some experience with C based languages.

If you all think I should go with the CMS, which one would you all recommend for something simple like this?

Any help is appreciated!

Thanks!
