While assisting someone with the malware (locker) on her computer, it was way more complex than I thought.
The locker pops up while booting in safe mode, safe mode with networking, and safe mode with command prompt.
If she presses escape at boot, Windows crashes, and automatically boots normally.
She did a Windows scan checking all drives, and once it started scanning the C drive, it said "Windows has stopped scanning C:\" and the locker popped up over the scan.
Basically, someone called her, tricked her into installing 2 things, remote tooled her, added himself on Facebook through her account, and then locked her laptop. It's by far the most complex thing I've seen, she can't even see her other operating systems via restore disc, etc. Her disc drive won't even open!
How could we resolve this?
